چکیده

In this study, biochar made from the Sesbania sesban plant, under slow pyrolysis at 300°C was used to adsorb methylene blue (MB) in aqueous solution. The properties were clarified by diverse analytical methods such as FTIR, SEM, and BET. results indicated that surface of relatively smooth, had porous texture, stacked evenly. addition, a large specific area 561.8 m2/g pHpzc value 6.9. effect adsorbent dosage, initial pH, contact time, concentration dye solution on investigated. optimum conditions for MB adsorption found 50 mg/L, pH 11, mass 0.6 mg, time 30 min. Under these optimal conditions, removal efficiency above 90%. Adsorption isotherm data fitted with Langmuir model (R2=0.897) suggesting monolayer, its maximum capacity about 6.6 mg/g. kinetic models showed linear pseudo-second-order R2=0.999 well fitted. enormous potential plant produce low-cost rather high-effective wastewater water quality improvement.

Removal of Basic Blue 159 from Aqueous Solution Using Banana Peel as a Low-Cost Adsorbent

In this paper, the adsorption of Basic Blue159 (BB159) onto banana peel as a low-cost material was studied. At first, the banana peel was sieved. Later, banana peel particles were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDXS) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) techniques. Batch adsorption experiments were carried out as a fu...

Coal Ash as a Low Cost Adsorbent for the Removal of Xylenol Orange from Aqueous Solution

The removal ofxylenol orange from aqueous solution onto the coal ash was investigated at room temperature. The results show that the adsorption capacity of xylenol orange increased as the adsorption time increased and then equilibrium established after 30 min adsorption time. The results obtained revealed that the coal ash removed about 80 % of xylenol orange from the aqueous solution withi...
